Learn How Anxiety Treatment, Depression Counseling, or Grief Counseling Can Help
Dealing with depression, anxiety, or grief can be very difficult. It impacts other areas of your life that don’t seem to be related. Faith and Family Empowerment’s Approach
Anxiety Treatment and Depression Counseling
Our approach to anxiety treatment and depression counseling involves getting to know you. We want to know your background and your history. Then we begin to look at some of the sources of your anxiety and depression. This could be from your family background, stress, pressure, or trauma. We work with you to understand that anxiety is a natural part of life. It comes from our fear of death, freedom and responsibility, isolation, or meaninglessness. There are many ways we can reduce anxiety and depression. This includes learning your values, making decisions according to those values. In addition, setting good life boundaries. This will help you live life to the fullest and find meaning. We examine the importance of community. Being part of a supportive community can ease your anxiety, depression, and isolation.
Grief Counseling
Our approach to grief counseling involves us getting to know you, your background, and your history. Then we get to know your story including the story of your loss. This could be a person, job, or relationship. As we navigate what the loss means to you we normalize the process of grief. We teach you about the stages of grief, including:
-
denial
-
anger
-
depression
-
anger
-
acceptance
We want to emphasize that this is not a linear process. There will be times that you will feel better than others. Finally, we work with you on the sixth stage of grief- which is finding meaning in your new life.
